Located right in the centre of Smithville,
just south of the intersection of Hwy 20 and Griffin St. S.

Visit our office in Smithville for your next eye exam.
We are welcoming new patients.

Your vision care at Merritt Eye Care begins with a complete eye health examination. Eyecare is so much more than 20/20 vision. General health problems as well as eye diseases can be diagnosed with a full examination and may not even have any symptoms. An eye health examination is essential to your overall health care. You do not need a referral to see an optometrist.

We are a full-scope optometry practice. If vision wear will help you to see better, we have excellent eyewear, fashionable frames, and quality lenses or contacts at affordable prices.

Regardless of your age or physical health, it’s important to have regular eye exams.

During a complete eye exam, your eye doctor will not only determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses, but will also check your eyes for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together as a team and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health.

To our Valued Patients and Clients

As you are aware the protocols surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19) are changing rapidly. Currently we have no one in the office that has been compromised by the virus and we are committed to ensuring both our staff and patients remain healthy.

The safety of our patients, our team and the broader community is the top priority. Therefore, out of an abundance of caution to stay safe, protect the vulnerable and help flatten the curve of the pandemic, we will be heeding the prime Minister's recommendations of staying home and self isolating.

Effective March 17, 2020 we will be closed and remain closed until we receive further direction from the government as to lifting of restrictions. As national protocols change, we will be sure to update you as to what we are doing to protect our patients.

Dr. Merritt has asked that any urgent situations be directed to her directly at 905-719-0567. Please contact her if you feel your issues need immediate attention before attending an already over-populated Emergency Room.

Should you require a refill of contact lenses, please use our online portal at www.merritt eyecare. ca to order your lenses and we will have them shipped directly to you. Also, if you require a refill of one or more prescriptions, please have your pharmacy fax us the request directly at 905-957-4166 as Dr. Merritt will be monitoring these requests to all ow for prompt responses.

We encourage you to stay safe and stay healthy. We will see you soon!

Stay Well,

The Staff at Merritt Eye Care
