Dr. Sitar received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2019, with a Dean’s Honours List distinction, after having completed her Bachelor of Science at McMaster University. While at the University of Waterloo, Dr. Sitar was the co-founder of the School of Optometry’s Contact Lens Club. She also traveled to Haiti as a member of an eye care team and gained valuable experience in providing primary optometric care. Dr. Sitar completed an externship at the Parkland Hospital Ophthalmology Department in Dallas, Texas, where she worked alongside optometrists and ophthalmologists to provide comprehensive dilated eye exams and problem-specific care for patients with a wide range of ocular diseases. She also had the opportunity to observe surgical procedures, including injections, which provided her with more in-depth knowledge about retinal disease management. She is proud to be a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists and is very excited to start providing the best possible eye care to the community.
