Dr. Marianne Hopkins was raised in the small town of New Hamburg, Ontario. After graduating with her Bachelors and PhD in Molecular Biology she worked as a researcher in genetics for several years. Realizing that she had a different calling as a primary health care provider she returned to school to pursue her dream in Optometry. After graduating with her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2016, she is pleased to join Dr. Cynthia Merritt’s team in Smithville. Returning to work in a small community again, feels like “coming home”. Dr. Hopkins has a devotion to provide clear and comfortable vision to patients of all ages, with a keen interest in binocular vision and vision therapy. Dr. Hopkins currently lives in Burlington with her husband and two daughters.
